Our chapter is small but it is blessed with some truly exceptional Masters.

 

At our meetings we discuss maritime affairs and keep up to date on our ever changing industry. Visitors and new members are truly welcome.

 

Become a LA/LB CAMM Member

Any member of the National CAMM in good standing, residing, working, or otherwise situated within the Southern California area are eligible to join the Los Angeles / Long Beach Chapter of CAMM. Please contact the Chapter president for an application and more information.

 

The Chapter participates in the annual Maritime Day remembrance on May 22nd each year at the American Merchant Marine Veterans Memorial. Captains Larry Welsh, Richard Connelly, Richard Bara, Paul Nielsen, and Bent Christensen were very instrumental in having the Maritime Memorial put up in San Pedro. After that, the Wall of Honor, with the names of all of the ships that were sunk during WWII and the names of those who were lost and imprisoned in POW camps. Since then, Paul Nielsen and Bent Christensen fought hard and won against the promoters of the Bridged to Breakwater Committee to remove the memorial and the Maritime Museum.
